CHAIR: Alfredo Pascual
Alfredo Pascual is a Germany-based International Analyst for Marijuana Business Daily, specialising in international cannabis markets and regulations. With an academic background in business and public policy, he founded Transnational Cannabis, a consultancy firm that focuses on cannabis regulatory frameworks in Europe and Latin America. Previously, Alfredo worked in business development for ICC Labs with a primary focus on developing expansion opportunities internationally.
Olivier is the Chief Operating Officer of Canopy Rivers. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer as well as the Senior Vice President of Continuous Improvement and Strategic Expansion for Canopy Growth. Prior to joining Canopy Growth, Olivier worked in various leadership and consulting roles in Asia, Europe, and North America at Michelin Tires and McKinsey & Company. Olivier received a degree in Electrical Engineering at McGill University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Andrés López is Director of the Colombian National Narcotics Fund, which is the national authority for the implementation of the International Drug Conventions regarding the medical and scientific uses of controlled substances and the public pharmaceutical company that imports, manufactures and distributes controlled medicines. Since 2016, he has been leading the regulation and implementation of the law that establishes the legalisation of cannabis for medical and scientific uses in Colombia. Before his current position, he worked for the Colombian Ministry of Justice and Law during the process of preparation for UNGASS 2016 and the construction of the Colombian regulation of cannabis.
Khalid Tinasti is the Executive Secretary of the Global Commission on Drug Policy. He also serves as a Visiting Fellow at the Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva, and as an Honorary Research Associate at Swansea University. Khalid holds a PhD in political science from the Institut Catholique de Paris, and conducted his postdoctoral research at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
Laurène Tran is Executive Director at Trade ACTIVE (Association for Cannabinoids, Terpenes, and Innovative Ventures in Europe). The organisation is the first European CBD trade association to unite companies, scientists, and investors working on CBD products. Laurene is also a lecturer at Sciences-Po Paris and Co-founder of the Innovation Working Group at the Institute of New Economic Thinking.
